Off and on from 2016 to 2018, Monica crafted erasure poems from books she was enjoying. She wound up with a total of 184 poems! Each poem includes a note indicating what book, and what pages she plucked the words from.

You may find some poems work better than others. That’s largely due to Monica’s self-imposed rules: Randomly select the page and commit to the randomness. No do-overs. Also no shuffling. Erase words, yes, but do not alter their sequence. One poem per day, beginning on the 1st of the month. And so on.

In any case, there are some real gems in here, and hopefully you’ll find inspiration, browsing through them in your own way, according to your own rhythm, enjoying Monica Rico poetry with undertones of other writers’ voices.

This is creativity for creativity’s sake! Have fun.
